Sorry for the lack of posts the past few days – real life caught up to me for a little while, as it does. So let’s play catch-up! Emmy’s been out and about, mostly darting between talk shows lately, it seems. I’ve added a few candids to the gallery for you to check out.

Emmy has also been doing press for Beautiful Creatures! She took part in the press conference in Beverly Hills, and I’ve added some photos to the gallery. Unfortunately, I’ve been unable to find them untagged or in high quality yet, but if I do, I will be sure to add them in!

Super long update today!

Firstly, I’ve added some gorgeous photos of Emmy from her shoot with Sam Jones. Check them out in our gallery, and read on for two recent articles about our girl. There’s also a video of Emmy from her SELF Magazine shoot and her appearance on New York Live!

On a recent fall evening in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, Emmy Rossum appeared in the role of a teapot. Her stage? “Shameless” co-star Joan Cusack’s living room. And her audience? Her fellow castmates. The tight-knit group was playing charades — one way they unwind after long days of filming in Chicago.

“I picked ‘Harry Potter,’ ” she says. “So I was trying to figure out how to do some kind of pun on the words ‘hair’ and ‘teapot.’ ” The cast of the Showtime hit (which debuted its third season on Jan. 13) often gathers at Cusack’s to discuss one another’s personal lives, dole out advice and let their charades games get competitive. “Jeremy Allen White’s team wins every time. I never win, and Bill [William H. Macy] never wins,” Rossum laughs. “I think the other teams are cheating. But I play a very honest charades game.” (READ MORE)

ELLE: The album’s title is Sentimental Journey; what are the different sentiments you attach to the songs on the album?

Emmy Rossum: I grew up listening to this kind of music. A song that’s on the record called “I’ll Be With You In Apple Blossom Time” is something that my mom used to sing to me as a bedtime lullaby. While all of the other kids were listening to ‘N Sync, I was listening to music from the ’30s. I’m a bit of an old soul. I just really gravitate towards a nostalgia for a time when things were simpler. When beauty was more classical and glamorous. (READ MORE)

It seems like 2013 is starting out very well for Emmy! She’s on the cover of February’s issue of Self magazine (make sure to pick it up as soon as you see it!) looking great, and sharing her tricks and tips to get into shape. Emmy Rossum has no shame. She’ll fess up to being an idiot in Spin class, wear a funny knit raccoon hat and openly admit that she looks crazy fit these days. It’s understandable—such unapologetic confidence comes with having a career that is taking off. Besides starring in Showtime’s hit drama Shameless, she has a new movie, Beautiful Creatures, out February 13, and a new album, Sentimental Journey. But despite the übersuccess, Emmy couldn’t be sweeter or funnier. We got her to spill a few secrets.

You announced on MySpace in 2008 that you were working on your second album and still searching for your sound, so what’s going on with all of that?

Well, three years later I think I’ve figured it out. But it takes time. I was on a label for a while right after “Phantom of the Opera,” and then I released a record ["Inside Out" in 2007] that I loved, that I think lyrically was very representative of me, but sonically it was something that was not completely authentic to me, so I’m trying to be more authentic, and I’m going to start working on a new music project now. I think it’s going to be stylistically a little different, maybe a little closer to my roots.
